A couple of months ago I stumbled across an amazing blog, this woman is absolutely extraordinary and super inspirational. Now, I know this will not be a new blog for most of you and you will wonder if I was living under a rock until a few months ago, but I am so thrilled to know of her blog now. It's Marian, Miss Mustard Seed. I love reading her blog because she makes you feel like you can accomplish anything yourself. Thanks to her, I actually upholstered my vintage French style chair all by myself. Yes, me! I am so proud of myself for even attempting this and I am so thrilled with the results!!
So here is the chair before. I painted it a light French gray when I first bought it. It was a really ugly yellow color with orange specks at first, very 1970's.
And here it is now:
{please pardon the ugly carpet}
I covered it with 2 different vintage grain sacks.
I was inspired by a chair Miss Mustard Seed designed with grain sacks.
Here's the back. I didn't have a big enough piece of grain sack left, so I just covered it in a vintage creamy white nubby linen grain sack fabric.
Well, there you have it, my first upholstered piece by me!
I've been dying to show you all but I've been pretty ill the last few days and spent the night in the hospital the other night. I'm feeling better today, so that's good!
I'll be taking a few more days off from posting to get some rest, so take care all and have a great weekend!
